Bride

We recently went backpacking through Panama. The entire trip I was trying to be helpful and repack our backpacks to make room, yet everytime I touched TJ's backpack he would yell at me. I could not figure out why he was being so mean to me everytime I tried to help him out. Little did I know what was hidden in that backpack.

One of the stops along the way was a hostel called Lost and Found. It is located in the cloud forest and the only way to it is to hike up the mountain. There are tons of trails and a beautiful river. The first day we wanted to do a treasure hunt that they offer. I had done this same hike a few years ago and I remembered it as a short little hike. It took us almost 3 hours of mostly uphill hiking and what we assumed was meant to be the trail. We battled bugs and ants the entire hike. As soon as we made it to the river it started to rain on us. Even with the rain the view was AMAZING.

I was busy trying to snap a few shots of the river.. I heard TJ call my name. When I turned around there he was with the most beautiful ring. I instantly said YES. It was the perfect spot and made the hike there totally worth it.

Then we had a 3 hour hike back to the hostel.....

Groom

I decided to propose to Jessie on our backpacking trip to Panama, but I wasn't sure where the best place would be. Our first few days I was busy getting certified in scuba. I had to keep the ring hidden and safe while traveling over hundreds of miles through the mountains and oceans and also keep it hidden away from Jessie who has an uncanny knack for ruining surprises. There were a few times while we were on water taxis that looked like they would flip at any time. All I could think about is how I was going to get the ring out of my backpack before everything sank. Thank goodness we stayed afloat. After we left the Atlantic side of Panama, we headed to the cloud forest hostel called Lost and Found. At Lost and Found there were so many beautiful sight that you can hike to. I though this is the perfect place to have the best proposal ever. After hiking up to the hostel and getting settled in, we wanted to go for a small hike and see some of the sights Lost and Found had to offer. After a few hours of hiking over 2 mountains, we came to the perfect spot. It was a small river bed that had water sweeping by these huge boulders. As Jessie looked the other way to take a few pictures, I got on my knee and called her name so she would look my direction. I asked her to marry me. She instantly said yes and kissed me!
