Bride

After 2 years of dating, living together at the camp for a year, and officially becoming homeowners together I was ready for the next step: MARRIAGE! I would hint around to Chett that our next step is to get engaged and he was not having it. He would come up with excuse and excuse as to why it was too soon. "We just bought a house, we can't afford a wedding right now" was the main one. I could see his point so I eventually stopped dropping hints. We were getting ready for our family vacation in Tennessee in October of 2020. This vacation included his whole family as a get-a-way and a way to spend quality time together. It was Tuesday October 6, 2020 and we were going as a family to Cade's Cove to try to see some animals and take family pictures. We drove around till we found the perfect spot to take family photos. We decided on a little spot on top of the mountains with the woods surrounding us but man was the view beautifiul. After taking the group family photos, it was time for the individual couple photos. Chett doesn't like to dress up often and he was really figety so he wanted out couple session to be first. I didn't mind getting ours out of the way first so we walked up and got infront of the camera. As Amanda was counting down and telling us to smile, I could feel Chett squirming around and was just thinking "what in the world?! Stand STILL!" Eventually I decided to question him and as soon as I turned and started to say "WHAT are you DOING??" he proceeded to get down on one knee. I was in TOTAL SHOCK. I had NO idea that this was even a thought, let alone actually happening. But it wasn't a dream, it was real! Chett was asking me to marry him! And of course I said YES right then and there!
