Here is a little bit about the people we chose for our wedding party. They are well loved and as much a part of our family as anyone who is a blood relative. Of course, Tama is my sister, but don't let that fool ya- she would not miss this for the world!

Janice Baker

I have known Janice since she was nine and I was 13. Seems like we have been friends forever. She was there for me through my all of my teens and through the ups and downs of my life. When we were young, we were inseparable. Even during the time she shaved her head bald, our friendship did not waiver. And now she has even fallen completely in love with my grand daughter and calls Ja'Lay her own. Janice has been my friend for the longest time and I would not have this church wedding without her. She is a stellar friend.

Lisa Morris

Lisa has been my friend since we were both pregnant with our last child. She had William and I had Gracie. They are now 14 and 15 years old. Our families are closer sometimes than anyone can imagine. We have spent much time camping and Bbq-ing and in great fellowship in and out of church. We have been brought together by Christ as friends and I am so excited that we get to hang out in heaven and on earth with each other and our families.

Tama Toro

What can I say about my sister, Tama? She is one of the funnest people I know. She makes me laugh and her smile brightens up a room. Tama has a silly laugh and a quirky personality. Of course she had to be a bridesmaid after the first "church wedding" turned into a justice of the peace wedding 20 years ago. How could I leave out this crazy, hard to locate, beautiful and 2nd favorite daughter of my mom? I cannot. I would not let her miss this for the world!

Lola Rivas-Jimenez

Lola has been a great friend of mine for nearly 23 years. She has taught me so many dichos in Spanish and I have been watching her learn English too. Our children have grown up together and are more like cousins. Lola and I could hold our own back in the day and now all we hold are the grandchildren our kids are having. There is a saying about Lola- she can move mountains...I almost believe that because she has moved some for me. This comadre is a true confidant and knows her presence in my wedding is a great desire of my heart.

Tony Zionskowski

Tony has been our friend for many years. Since the day he met Janice, he has wormed his way into our hearts and become more like family to us. He is silly and makes Martin and I laugh. His ridiculous antics are always getting him into trouble and Janice usually gets the best of him. He has also been our mechanic and he holds the title as Tony-Dad to Ja'Lay, our grand daughter. I just can't wait to see this burly looking, teddy bear heart, motorcycle riding guy in a suit!!

Robert Morris

Robert is a great friend and true lover of God. He is thoughtful, helpful and kind. Martin really loves Robert like a brother because of his love for the simple things in life such as living in Ramona and wearing that straw hat. Robert and Lisa, his wife have been a part of our life for as long as Martin and I began having our girls. They have also been a part of Nataseah's and Andy's lives during their teenage years. Lots of advice and love have been shared during our friendship. I am not sure what we would have done without them. Robert is pretty mellow just like Martin. That makes for a pretty good friendship!

Manuel Rivas

Manuel has been our friend for as long as Martin and I have known each other. He has been a faithful and caring compadre, always ready to talk about life and family. He and Martin have some pretty cool qualities in common. They are both hard workers, having great work ethic and they also are very compassionate and kindhearted. We have gone camping and to the beach with him and his wife Lola and the kids. We have gone to each other's fiestas and spent holidays with them. Manuel is a good guy and a good friend to us.

Enrique Anaya

Enrique is one cool dude. His friendship has been a Godsend to Martin as he has always been able to give great advice and be that friend who steers him in the right direction. Martin and I have known Enrique for over 10 years. His alabanza al Senor has brightened up our camping trips and Sunday services at La Palabra. We recently attended his wedding in Mexico to Lolita, his bride and love her happy demeanor. She is shaking things up in the Anaya home and we think it is just what the doctor ordered. One thing we miss, though is Enrique's signature beanie. He always wore it but it looks like it has been replaced by a good woman's love ♥
