Bride

So, WOW!  We're engaged!!  And we couldn't be anymore happier!  Robert asked me to marry him while we were out on a Harley ride and I, in my true fashion, didn't exactly make it easy on him.

He originally wanted to pop the question a week earlier when he took me to one of my favorite cafes in Carpenteria and then a "romantic" walk on the beach.  While on the beach, I kept trying to leave, trying not to get wet, trying not to get sand all over me, not to mention trying to hide from the sun.... you all know how much I love the great outdoors! :-p  Anyways, it was a bust.

The following week he took me on a very long Harley ride up through Ojai and out towards San Luis Obispo.  We stopped at a cool little Pistachio farm for a break and then turned around back home.  On the way back, he pulled off to the side of the road in this beautiful little wind swept canyon, with an almost dry stream bed at the bottom that had carved it's way through. To his surprise, I asked him if he wanted to go down & have a look around.  I think he thought he was going to have to drag me kicking & screaming, which would have been the norm had my ass not hurt so much from being on the bike for so long!  Anyways, once again, I had my quick look around and kept trying to leave.  He finally told me to relax and stand near this overlook (aka cliff) so he could take my picture. (For a minute I thought maybe it was going to be one of those things you see on Forensic Files where the person says just back up a little bit more and then they push you off the cliff!  Lucky for me it went in a completely different direction!!) Of course, one picture and I was ready to leave... he told me to stop being in such a hurry and to put my helmet down.  I whined at him that it would get bugs in it if I did and he said (in so many words) to just put the helmet down.  So I turned away, put the helmet down, and when I turned back around he was down on one knee, with my pretty purple ring, and asked me to marry him!!!!  Of course, I whole-heartedly said YES and as I write this, I'm smiling ear to ear.  I can't stop thinking about how happy he has made me and so excited for this next chapter of our lives together!

Every time he hears me tell this story he just shakes his head and says he's exhausted from just hearing what he had to go through.  Ha Ha!!  I guess I really am lucky he didn't push me off that cliff.  Sounds like it was a close one!!
