Bride

I was born March 1, 1982 to the most amazing parents a kid could ask for. Originally we lived in the city but we moved to a small, country town the summer after my 3rd grade year and it became clear that I'd been a country girl at heart all along. I spent the rest of my "growing up" years in this close-knit community surrounded by family and church-family.

When I was seven years old, my mom and I became involved in a massive stage production called, The Promise, in Glen Rose, Texas. We kept coming back year after year and eventually my brother and two sisters were in it too. I spent 19 seasons with the production and from rehearsals in May through the last of October, every weekend of my childhood was spent there. That is where my story with Andrew starts...but we'll save that for later wink.

After graduating high school, I attended Teen Mania's Honor Academy; a year long Christian leadership internship. It was there that I really discovered my love of missions. I took trips to India and Panama while I was there and upon graduation, continued going whenever and wherever I could. I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for a time to study Archaeology and intend to return and finish that degree...at some point... My travels have taken me to India, Singapore, South Korea (x2), Panama, Thailand and most recently back to India where I spent 6 months working with Burning Bush Tabernacle. I returned in April, met back up with Andrew and...well...here we are!

Groom

Andrew is my superhero! He is brilliant, sweet, hilarious, handsome, thoughful, strong and a great cook! There are tons of other things I could say about him, but it would take entirely too long for you to read all the reasons why I love him.

Andrew was raised in the city, over an hour from where I was doing my growing up. He was born into an incredible family and raised to be exactly what a man should be. By the time he graduated high school, he had racked up some impressive accomplishments including, but not limited to, kicking butt at an electronics competition where he won a scholarship to DeVry (and a trophy that was nearly as tall as him...but I digress).

During his high school years he also became involved in The Promise thanks to some family friends that had already managed to get his mom and sisters roped in. He worked on the Tech Crew and because of his knowledge in the field and hard work, he rose through the ranks and was extremely well respected by peers and superiors alike.

Several years passed and a friend of his threw out the idea of joining the Navy. He was looking for a direction to go and jumped in with both feet. Again, his knowledge, hard work and the ability to truly be a man that his dad had instilled in him before he passed came into play and he became very well respected by his peers and superiors. His ship spent time deployed all over the world and he was stationed in Italy for three years before returning to the States and finishing his six year committment. In 2008 he moved back to Texas and resumed his schooling. I had thought we might get together then, but the timing apparently wasn't right. It wasn't until after I had returned from India that he quit thinking of me "as one of his sisters". Ha ha...
