FAQs

Carnival.com is a great resource for all of your cruise related questions. Dana will also be doing a blog for things related to our details specifically.

What is a normal day at sea like?

We usually go to breakfast on the Lido deck around 8ish, after Rob goes to the gym.  We usually sit on the Starboard side of the Lido restaurant somewhere.  You can also dine in the dining room for Breakfast, or can get room service.

After breakfast, we may do some kind of activity or something, and then we hit the pool for the afternoon.

Dinner, we usually go to the dining room, but there is also Lido deck, Bonsai Sushi, or many other options.  Do not feel that you have to meet us, do your own thing and enjoy your vacation!

Can we bring alcohol or drinks onboard?

Wine - allowable limit of one 750 ml bottle per adult (21 years of age or older).
Non-alcoholic beverages in
a can or carton containers;  12 cans/cartons per person); not over 12 ounces each.

When is the wedding?

The wedding will be Monday, October 10th.  The time and location will be updated 2 weeks prior to sailing, so please check back.

Wedding dress code?

For the wedding, we will be dressed nicely.  Once photos of the wedding party are taken, most probably will change into something more comfortable.  It will be Elegant Night the day of the wedding.

Will there be a reception?

The ceremony will be under 30 minutes...photos, maybe another 30.  The maximum allowed reception is only an hour...so we opted to not have one.  I don't believe you can eat, drink and dance within only an hour.  We will come up with a plan as to where on the ship we will move our party, and go from there.  Check back for more details!

What can we do in Bermuda?

We are scheduled to arrive in Bermuda by 9am.  We are in the process of planning something on the island ...check back for more details!

Luggage details:

To help you plan, we suggest you limit your luggage to a maximum of no more than two bags per person, for cruises of 6 days or longer. In addition, you must personally carry-on any boarding documentation (passports, Visas, I.D), valuables, medications and items which require special handling. Guests who are scheduled to arrive at the terminal before 1:30 PM, usually check their bags with a porter so they can be free to enjoy lunch on Lido Deck before access to their stateroom is granted.

Checked baggage service is only available until 2 hours before the ship's published sailing time (printed in the cruise documents).  Guests arriving after this time will be responsible for taking their bags on board.

Each checked suit case and carry-on suit case should not weigh more than 50 pounds, and when lying flat, bags must not exceed 16 inches high by 24 inches wide (the length of the bag is not a factor). For security screening purposes, all luggage should be unlocked. Oversized luggage and locked luggage may cause delivery delays.

Personalized luggage tags are included in the guest’s Electronic Documents (available once online check-in is completed). It is not necessary to print the tags in color.

Carnival luggage tags must be affixed to your baggage prior to arriving at the terminal.  Additional tags can be obtained at curbside from the porter. Porters will re-tag any luggage tag with a TBA cabin assignment.

Curbside porters are customarily provided a $1 tip per bag.  They are not employees of Carnival and should a guest experiences any problems, they must report it to porter management on site.

Since the screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process, large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage. Small, personal-sized coolers, no larger than 12 inches x 12 inches x 12 inches, for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage.

What should I pack?

There are a number of must-pack items that we recommend every cruiser consider when preparing for a Carnival cruise.  Before you get started, check out our What to Wear section and research the weather forecast for the ports you’ll be visiting to determine exactly what you will need to bring.  In addition, here are some other recommended items:

Collapsible daypack or bag
Sunglasses
Rain jacket or poncho and/or small umbrella

What Not to Pack

In order to maintain a safe and secure environment, Carnival prohibits certain items on board, such as weapons, candles, irons, alcohol, or other dangerous goods. Carnival conducts security safety scanning of all luggage and if prohibited items are found, they will be removed and disposed of and no compensation will be given. Please review our list of Prohibited Items before shutting your suitcase.

Is laundry/iron available?

Each floor has a laundry room, complete with iron.  Chris and Beth, your iron will be confiscated if you bring it!  There is also laundry service for an additional charge.
