HOW WE MET ~ Welllll, back in 2015....I was transitioning churches & started going to a new church, Storehouse. I caught a glimpse of this cute guy with a beard from across the room. I just had to meet him. So I went up and introduced myself to him (yeah…shocker! I know, since I’m so shy, haha!). He was talking to someone about possibly getting back on the worship team to sing. I was all giddy and two weeks went by...I went back for worship & service one day and told my friend, "that's the cute guy I met (with a huge cheesy grin)"! As we are walking to sit down, he literally turns at the exact same time and we make eye contact. Kinda awkward. But it was such a God moment for us...because of the timing! I asked if anyone was sitting next to him (smooth move, Britt)...and he said my friend and I could sit there. After service, we talked a lot & with the help of my friend, she suggested he get my #. So he did ask for it. ;) I told him we were going to an evening worship & service @ Upper Room if he wanted to meet up and go. Later that evening, my friend and I were driving to Upper Room and the Holy Spirit told me to send him the address via Facebook. And I fought the nudge and said to myself, "No way, I am not going to go chasing after anymore guys!" Well, not even 30 seconds later, I get a call and it was Michael. Anddd guess what he asked..."Hey this is Michael! What's the address for tonight?" My mouth dropped. I should've listened to the Holy Spirit. That night, we talked before service and had so much in common. It was unreal how many of the smallest details we had in common. He ended up coming to dinner with a big group of friends from Upper Room that night and insisted he take me out soon...just us. From day one he has pursued me and still does today.

THE PROPOSAL ~ On November 18, 2017, one day before my birthday, we went to ICE at the Gaylord Texas with my family!  It was such a fun, peaceful and joyful day with the family! I've always cherished how much Michael loves spending time with my family and wants to go visit them in Ennis. As we were waiting for our reservations for dinner, we all walked around the Gaylord looking at the Christmas décor. I found the CUTEST bridge ever and suggested we take "couple" pictures there for Christmas cards. Mom and dad went first and took their glamour shots and then Michael and I were up! It was perfect timing, because nobody even passed by the entire time. He pretended to kiss me after the pictures and then as he reached for the ring, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was completely shocked and speechless...I'm pretty sure I said something like, "What!? Now? Are you sure? Don't let it fall down the bridge"....Yes!! Of course!" (crying while saying all this!) We have talked about this for two years and knew we would always be married and that God put us together...it finally hit me and it was the happiest day of my life! I woke up on my birthday the next morning and looked at my hand...it was the best birthday ever! Excited to stand next to this man in life and see what all God has for us and our future! Our story for His glory!
