Bride

Family and friends who did not hear about how I was proposed or did not get to be there in person with us, take a seat, make sure your not driving while reading this and enjoy.

It was just another normal 4th of july day in 2016 and Delilah, Jon and myself were getting ready to go to his grandmas anual block party. I have been going to this block party since i was 10 years old. My parents, the Nielsen's and Gocal's would all sit under the same tent on grandma Nielsen's lawn. Back to the story...as we are leaving our home to go over to the block party we took some family pictures outside and headed out. It seemed like any other day. Family all our friends gathered on grandma Nielsen's front lawn as the kids went off and played and the adults sat back had a few drinks and laughs, even Jon was drinking which was weird enough. around 5pm the block party raffel starts, which i never win but decided to buy some tickets. As the entire block gathered around the raffel table the 1st ticket was drawn. You hear over the speakers on how this 1st prize is a 21 and over gift as there will be alcohol involved. The number is picked as is being read, and to my disbelief my number is called. Everyone cheered and clapped as they all know i have never won anything out of all these years. As i walk up to collect my prize i was asked if i was 21, which i rolled my eyes at and laughed, then was told that I have a very special suprise. I could see a canvas covered with a sheet, and it was brought over to me. The sheet was taken off and the picture read "Will you marry me" and as i turned around there was Jon on one knee holding open a ring box. As i hear everyone screaming and cheering i am being told to read the sign, which i couldnt get out the words as i was shaking. When i finally read it to the crowd Jon had placed the ring on my finger. What turned out to be a normal 4th of july turned out to be a proposal and the most memorable 4th of july ever.
