I guess when we think of our story we have to go as far back as 14 years ago! A lot of people do not know that I was single for a time, two years to be exact, and that my good friend, Sylvia Moir, had tried to set me up on a blind date with a friend of hers she was sure I would like...her name was Patty. I politely declined. I found out later that Patty declined as well, as she told Syl, "I would never date someone with Tattoos."
About a year later I walked into roll call at the police station and there on the other side of the room was this HOT ITALIAN! Being too shy to say anything, I spent a good part of a month trying to avoid her until one day as we crossed paths in the hallway, Patty hit me about as hard as she could in the arm and said, "Are you ever going to talk to me?" We had coffee that day. Mine was so hot I had to bend over and let it literally fall out of my mouth. I know how to get the chicks!
Our first date was interesting. I changed Patty's car battery for her (showing off the butch side) and then we went to the movies. Our first movie was "The Spit Fire Grill" at the Tower Theatre.
After a year of dating we moved in together. After fourteen years we have accumulated a small farm of three dogs and now a bird. We have spent the years laughing, learning, and sometimes crying, but in the end have always come out of things together and stronger than ever. We never would have guessed that we would be able to experience getting married, legally, in our lifetimes. A few months ago when the Supreme Court decided that it was time for equality we were amazed and excited.
On June 21st, I got down on one knee in Mendocino, Ca. and popped the question. The rest we want to celebrate with you!
The wedding is going to take place in Laguna Beach at Tivoli Terrace. Our good friend, Mary Russell, is going to officiate, and the reception will follow immediately after.

This is by far the best deal in Laguna Beach. 1/2 a block from the beach, newly renovated rooms, and visited and approved by Pam's Mom, Linda Bennett. If we get more than 10 rooms booked here for the wedding the room rate is supposed to be $150 instead of $170 per night.

We are working on transportation for the Cruise Goers Sunday morning from Laguna to Long Beach. We are trying to rent a few vans to get everyone to the ship! (Info to follow when we finalize plans.)
We can't even begin to tell you how excited we are to be getting married and sharing the day, or perhaps the whole week, with the people that mean the most to us. We have a lot of friends who ask why we have not had a wedding ceremony before, "After all its just a piece of paper." I can tell you that when you can't have that piece of paper it is a big deal, and when you are finally told that you can have what everyone else gets it is the coolest feeling in the world! This is going to be the best day of our lives and we are very excited to share it with everyone.
