It all started with 3 simple words..."You Got Mail". Kevin and I were both single parents, raising 2 little girls each, looking for love and someone to spend the rest of our lives with. We had both been through a horrible marriage and painful divorce and we both knew what we were looking for and the things we wanted, needed and couldn't stand. Since we both were raising children and working full time, Kevin actualy worked two jobs, we didn't have much time to go out and meet people. We both decided to try and find that "special someone" online and so we turned to Eharmony.com to help us out.
I remember the day like it was just yesterday. I just gotten home from having New Years Day dinner, my little one was taking a nap and my older daughter and I were watching TV and relaxing. My computer was on, cause it was always on, and all of a sudden I heard, "You Got Mail". So I got up and went to my computer and there was an email saying I had a match with Kevin from Telford, PA. So I decided to check him out and as I was reading his profile, there was just something about him that intrigued me. The more I read, the more I wanted to know. So I sent him some questions and answered some of his. As the day went on, I just kept jumping to my computer everytime I heard it say that I had mail to see what he would write next. By the end of the night, we had completed the screening process and were able to communicate on our own free will through our regular emails. The next morning I woke up to find he had emailed me after I went to bed and after emails, instant messages, texting and phone conversations, we finally decided to go on our first date.
We both were nervous but once he arrived and we saw each other for the first time, all I could think of doing was give him a hug and smile. He took me to Red Lobster and it was followed by a movie. Dinner was great and the conversation felt like we had known each other our whole lives. We talked for about an hour after we finished dinner since we had time before we went to the movie theatre. The movie was a comedy and was very funny. The whole night just felt so perfect and we both agreed that it was a great date and we wanted a second one.
After several dates and getting to know each other, we decided we were ready to meet each others children. Everything went well with both meetings and once the kids got to meet each other, they seemed to like the idea of having new playmates. Months went by of making wonderful memories and we decided to make the first "big step" of our relationship....we moved in together.
After about a year and half of dating, Kevin decided to pop the question. We had a thing for the number one...we were matched on January 1st and started dating on January 11th. We were taking an adventure in a hot air balloon, which was a birthday present to him from me, and once we reached one mile high, he whispered in my ear and asked me if I wanted him to be my husband. I of course said YES! Ever since that day, we have been planning our wedding and honeymoon and just enjoying our lives together as one big happy family! |
