Talk about beauty. Raging water falls, warm summer hikes, driving through stunning icy mountains that shadow a valley so far down that the river looks like you’re viewing it from a plane. I’m glad I got to spend such a stunning vacation with my favorite travel buddy. We went kayaking into the sunset on Lake McDonald’s crystal clear waters with the monstrous mountains of Glacier looming over us in the distance. We went hiking in bear country, and I tried huckleberry ice cream for the first time. This was truly a life changing experience. On our last evening in Glacier, we decided to do our last bit of hiking. We decided to go to crystal lake, which was tucked away right in the middle of the mountains of Glacier. We just so happened to “run into” our friends on our way up the mountain. I fell for it and chalked it up to being a coincidence. It was such a surreal hike. It was 75 degrees outside and we were all dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, but we were trudging through thick powdery snow on the edge of a steep, shady mountain. Unfortunately, we never made it to that secret lake, as it was a 1.5 mile hike to and from the lake. We had already been hiking for about 4 miles in total earlier that day, so my body quit on me halfway up the steep slippery slope, and we all decided to head back down. Halfway down, there was a cliff that Tim decided we should take a picture at. After our friends took our pictures, Tim stood up quickly and as he helped me up, I turned around to him kneeling with a ring!
