 | | People always ask, "so, where did you two meet?", the answer always gets the "aww that's so cute!" response. Michael and I met at a butterfly farm. Yes, that is right. A place where they grow butterflies for release at weddings, funerals, or other type events. He was working as a landscaper, and I had just moved to the area. I needed a job to meet some new people. I was a lab dork, but was instantly attracted to him. He never admits it, but he was so shy around me. My retelling of the first time he said anything to me is much different then his retelling. Though we can both agree we thought the other was cute. Our first "date" ended up with his food on the floor, and him staying out way past his curvew. Not sure why a nineteen year old had a curvew but, whatever. We stayed up just talking. After a week we were inseperable! | | The proposal! Oh, goodness. He did it at my favorite place, and his least favorite place. But in order to make it special for me, he made a sacrifice and sucked it up to take me to Disney! He had it all planned to be in front of Cinderella's Castle, but this girl doesn't make anything easy. We had discussed leaving Magic Kingdom that morning to go to lunch, then returning to the park afterwards. With this in mind Michael left the ring in the car. Well, I had changed my mind about having lunch outside the park, so Michael had to come up with a way to get back to the car. Michael, "We need to go to the car, I left my phone," my response, "baby, if anyone needs you they will just call me. I'm not going back to the car". Poor, Michael. At this point he decided to just do it without the ring. Again, I was being difficult. He wanted to go the scenic route around the park. Guess, what there was construction and a parade. Yeah, no way to get near the castle. So, I was cranky and wanted to leave. He was disappointed because he hadn't gotten a chance to ask. We head to downtown Disney for dinner. He spots a really pretty fountain and decides this will be the spot. We get done with dinner, and I'm ready to go. So, my suggestion is, "we can cut through the parking lot, it will be quicker. He quickly comes up with an excuse, "no I really want to see that fountain again". Not that weird considering how facsinated he is with water. So, I agree. We sit on the bench and he finally gets the courage to ask. He gets down on one knee after me questioning what he is doing. He asks if I will marry him. I cry and tell him of course. | | The wedding has been a long process. We have set multiple dates, but this one is finally sticking! We are so excited to have a wedding that is on the water, but not on the beach. We are ready for this step in our lifes together. And can't wait to celebrate with the family. In the last few months, it feels like everything is falling into place! | | Michael and I are so excited to have a vacation. It has been almost two years since we have gotten away together. We are asking family and friends to help make this honeymoon special. We have registered on carnival honeywishes. No toasters for us. Even those are awesome, we would rather have an amazing honeymoon to remember! |
