Bride

The proposal.....It all started when Hunter ask me what I would think about a marriage proposal during the holidays, I told him that it would be too cliche to propose during the Christmas holiday.   I thought that he was just asking so he could start to prepare.  Nothing else was said about marriage/proposal subject.  After the Christmas Holiday Hunter and my mom were texting and talking but leaving me out of the conversations which was frustrating me. I had no idea that they were up to something.  It was December 21st and my mom mentioned that the Ice Castles in Dillon were going to be opening soon and that they (mom & dad) wanted to go.  Which I right away responded I would like to go too.  Still have no idea that they are working together on this proposal surprise.  During the ticket purchasing time Hunter and my mom kept making changes that were frustrating me and to be honest I was just not feeling it because they weren't listening to my ideas and wishes.  It all finally worked out for Friday December 28th.  We drove up to Dillon and decide to have dinner before going to the Ice Castles.  Once we arrived we took a few group pictures then proceeded to walk around.  We had only been inside for a few minutes going down the ice slides with Eli and laughing when Hunter got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.  I happily said yes.

After asking Samantha about the Holiday proposal and being shot down.  I quickly went back to work trying to come up with another surprise proposal idea.  Coming up with a plan is tough as we spend almost all our time together and surprising her would be difficult to say the least. I decided that if her mom and I worked together I might be able to get it planned without her noticing too much.  I decided that the Ice Castle in Dillon would be a great place to ask her to be my wife. I asked her mom to set the plan in action to see if Samantha would be excited to join them for the Ice Castle tour.  She bought it hook, line and sinker.  The opening was delayed due to the warm weather in Colorado. Once they opened we were on a mission to get tickets for an evening time when both our parents could join us.  Trying to navigate everyones schedules on late notice became quit the task, this could have ruined the entire thing but I held strong through it.  After at least 5 changes of date, times and people attending we got it scheduled December 28th was the date I was going to ask her to marry me.  Once we were in the Ice Castle  we took some great pictures with family and then went down a few ice slides with Eli.  Keep in mind that it was a balmy 8 degrees that night.  We then started walking toward the LED castle portion and that is when I decided "I am going to do this right now".  I walked up to Samantha stopped her and got down on one knee.  I asked her to spend the rest of our lives together.  I was so happy when she said yes.
