Carnival Wedding

PRE-CRUISE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS: We strongly recommend couples and their guests arrive at the homeport city least one day prior to sailing, in order to avoid late flights, traffic, etc. on their wedding day. This is not a requirement — only a suggestion. Since we want this day to be as stress-free as possible, we will work diligently to provide early boarding to our wedding couples and their guests.

Please note that Carnival’s transfer service will NOT get you there early enough for your wedding. These transfers are for regular boarding. Please make alternate arrangements for prompt transportation to the pier.

At what time do my wedding guests and I need to be at the port?   Priority boarding is provided for couples being married the day of embarkation, once the ship is cleared by U.S. Customs. Arrival time for wedding guests is 9:15am. These times are provided with embarkation instructions through our Wedding Department based on the sailing port.  You must be at the pier at the time indicated by your Wedding Planner for priority boarding. Please be prompt.

Boarding:  Priority boarding is provided for bridal couples, as well as their guests, being married on the day of sailing.  The time to board the ships is controlled by US Customs and Immigration.  No one is allowed to board the ship until US Customs and Immigration clear the ship. Due to the terrorist attacks on our country, US Customs and Immigration have increased security measures. In the event the delay in boarding affects the time of the wedding, the wedding will be delayed accordingly.

How long will my wedding ceremony last?   The ceremony is approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

PRIORITY CHECK-IN: Priority boarding is provided for couples getting married on the day of embarkation.  However, the ship must first be inspected and “cleared” by U.S. Customs before anyone may board.  Please arrive promptly and pay special attention to your boarding information to ensure you are at the pier in time for priority boarding. You and your guests, both sailing and non-sailing,

Must arrive together in order for them to be allowed priority boarding.

All visitors must present a printed boarding pass, and photo identification upon arrival.

Non-Sailing Guests:  All non-sailing guests are to be completely dressed and ready for the wedding when arriving at the cruise terminal.  The bride and groom submitted a guest list for all non-sailing guests including your names and date of birth.  You will need to provide your state issued photo ID at the time of check in, please have it available. You will leave your ID with Security in the terminal and be given a guest pass to board the ship.  Non-sailing guests are welcome to tour the ship until the ceremony time. All non-sailing guests must debark the ship immediately after the reception. When leaving the ship, you will need to redeem your ID in the ship’s terminal.

Sailing Guests:  All sailing guests (except the bride and groom) should be completely dressed and ready for the wedding when arriving at the cruise terminal. Time permitting, sailing guests may have an opportunity to go to their stateroom, however, the cabin may not be ready. Only the bride and groom’s cabin is guaranteed to be ready. The bride and groom may carry on a garment bag in addition to a carry-on bag. Only one hand-carry-on bag will be permitted for sailing guests and must fit through the security machine. Luggage not to exceed 24”w x 16”h. All other bags must be checked with the Porters.  Please ensure that you have everything you need for the wedding and reception, as you will not see your checked bags until after the reception. Please ensure that all ticket documents have been completed prior to arrival at the pier to expedite check-in and have proper boarding documents available. Once onboard, you may go to your stateroom.  If you lose your way, any Carnival Cruise Lines staff member can direct you.
