 | The first time I saw Shannon was while I was in training to work for Wyndham Vacation Resorts, but we did not officially meet at this point. Instead, I was sitting in a training class with my new boss going over our dress code, explaining that we could wear shorts if we were working at an outdoor location as long as they looked nice and were a reasonable length. He followed this up with a joke saying, "So Ryan, I'm sorry but you can't be wearing your daisy duke short shorts." Right then, in walks Shannon to ask him some questions, wearing jean shorts that are clearly shorter than the dress code he just described. I kind of laughed to myself and thought, "pretty blonde girl gets to do what she wants". Little did I know this would be my future wife, but before all that would happen we officially met about a week later when we worked together and didn't take long to strike up a conversation about gymnastics. She recruited me to start teaching tumbling classes at the gym she worked at, an all star cheerleading gym, which was relatable to my gymnastics background but still felt like a very different gym experiece from what I was accustomed to. As time went on, I spent more and more time at the gym and more time with Shannon. This led to growing our relationship from friends to dating. Before long I had fallen in love with her and fallen in love with coaching cheerleading and tumbling with her. The last few years we have spent together has seemed to go very quickly, because it has been so enjoyable spending my time with Shannon and sharing our passion for coaching together. Most people would find it difficult to spend so much time together and work together, but I think it makes our relationship even stronger. And we still get along with each other(most of the time!). I look forward to what the future holds for us as we continue to grow in our relationship and pursue our dreams together! |
