Our story of how we met,

Chris and I met at the Soul Fire Cafe. Chris had helped start the cafe and I volunteered there, serving drinks. I was sitting a the coffee table checking my email when Chris plopped down across from me and started studying his 7 level CDCs. Chris was there with his friends: JJ, Shauna, Dwayne and his wife Sequoia. I worked with Dwayne and new Shauna through church, and I met Sequoia through my volunteer work. Shauna introduced me to JJ.

Well, back to Chris and I. We started talking a little bit and hanging out with everyone, just having a good time. A little later that evening Dwayne invited everyone to his house to watch some movies, I went along to join them after I got someone else to cover the rest of my shift at the cafe. We watched movies and hung out the rest of the night.

The next day was Sequoia's birthday and I was invited to join the celebration. I got a call from Chris and JJ telling me to meet them in the BX parking lot and I would follow them to Dwayne and Sequoia's place. We all hung out together chatting, playing games and eventually watched a movie. After it got dark and some people had to go home, Chris, JJ, Shauna and I drove back to Chris' apartment to hang out some more and watch some more movies. Before we started the movie Dwayne and Sequoia dropped by as well as Darnell. We were watching 'Tears of the Sun', a movie that will get you angry and cry at the same time. So Dwayne sat and held his wife Sequoia during the movie and Chris sat and held me during the movie. Now do keep in mind that since Chris and I met we had been flirting with one another, I knew that I was flirting, but Chris did not realize that he was flirting with me or that I was flirting back (it was so cute! lol)

Well, his friends Darnell and JJ took Chris aside and had a chat with him about me and him. They noticed that we were flirting with each other and told him to do something about it. The day Chris was to leave for Alaska, he sent me a text saying that he needed to talk to me. I knew what he wanted to talk to me about, but tried to keep my hopes down just in case I was wrong, but it didn't work! lol. I knew that he was going to ask me out and nothing could change my mind otherwise! lol I met him at his apartment and helped him finish packing before he finally pulled me outside and sit on the stairs to talk to me (because Shauna was inside and he didn't want to talk in front of her.) He started fumbling about trying to explain his situation and ask me out and whatnot, it was so adorable! lol. He finally got what was on his mind out and asked me out. Even though he was leaving that night for Alaska, we took advantage of the TDY and talked on the phone everyday for about 5-6! hrs at a time, getting to know one another. Since he's been back from Alaska, we've been together all the time and just getting to know each other even more.

The Wedding will be held aboard the MS Carnival Glory while docked in Port Canaveral, Florida.

The reception will immediately follow the ceremony onboard the MS Carnival Glory.

We will be visiting Nassau, Bahamas St Thomas USVI and St Marteen BVI. We look forward to sunning, swimming and exploring!

We are looking forward to sharing this special day with everyone. The Lord has blessed us with wonderful family and friends.
