David and I met at a pool hall called City Lights in January 2001. I know what they say about meeting in a bar, but they are so wrong, at least in our case! David asked me for my number and as you know I have WAY too much class to give my number to a guy I just met, so I asked for his instead. hehehe (If you want all the details you will have to ask Kelly she witnessed the whole thing- beware she does elaborate and there could be multiple versions- that is why I love her!
A week later at an ungodly hour I called David, who was asleep, but he said he was awake. So we talked the next day and scheduled a date. He wanted to pick me up (what a gentleman), but I being paranoid and with only one real conversation under my belt decided to me him at Terry's Office Tavern (I know the name is crazy) but this place is like Cheers- seriously. I walked in to meet David, who had been waiting for at least a half an hour and the Bartender pointed to him when I walked in- seriously like Cheers everyone knew everyone except him and I so they knew he was waiting for me. It was hysterical (to me any way). He looked really nervous so it did not help when he was interrogated by my best girlfriend cherish ( you will have to ask her about the plan her and I had- to make sure I was "safe"). Seriously this is so funny looking back.
We both had come from previous relationships that were emotionally draining and found out that we both wanted the same thing in a partner. We are frank people and covered a lot of personal subjects in the first date, stuff that would normally take me months to learn about someone. David and I were inseparable after that first date. We have never felt that close to someone that fast in our lives. We both actually scared each other with the comfort level.
Almost eight years and many great memories later we are about to commit our lives to each other; we could not be happier. Thank you for being a part of our lives and sharing your time and creating many memories with us. To our family and friends: We love you and thank you for the support you have provided to us. Sincerely, David and Stephanie
