Matthew and I met over five years ago. We both worked at the same place for a year and a half and never saw each other. One day I was down in the cafe at work ordering the same thing I always did - a breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs and cheese - occasionally with peppers. After ordering I turned around and saw this beautiful man across the room that was starring at me. I couldn't help but to look back. I noticed we were both headed for the cash register, but our eyes never left each others. I could hear my friends in the background yelling at me asking if I wanted peppers or not, but I couldn't stop looking at Matthew to even answer them. Finally when we were about to pass each other, I thought to myself "SAY SOMETHING". We both spoke at the same time and had a very short conversation consisting of names only. The entire time starring at each other dead in the eyes, then we said goodbye. (I did end up getting peppers on my burrito - in case you were wondering.) I didn't see him for over a month. And finally we ran into each other in the halls. We started out as friends, taking long walks over breaks. Even after we were friends for a bit, I still didn't believe a man like Matthew was single. So one day I invited him over to my house. It was Valentine's Day and I thought, "okay, if he has a woman he definitely won't be able to make it and will have some major excuse why he couldn't be there". But, before I knew it he was at my door on Valentine's Evening with a chocolate candy rose and champagne! When we finally started dating, I knew shortly that he was the man I would marry. I didn't know it was going to be FIVE YEARS later, but I did know he would be the one eventually.


I know, sounds like I got it out of a fairytale book and you already feel like gagging! But it's all true and I'm glad to say that Matthew and I have been making people gag for over five years now. Our love, or "our us" as we call it, is one of the greatest blessings God has given to us. Of which we are truly thankful for.
