On Saturday, November 7th, 2006 Carolyn was rushing for her sorority at the University of Houston she was required to do community service. With the help of her younger sister she was accepted to gain hours at an annual festival where Laura and her parents work. Rolando also teaches Carolyn’s younger sister at the high school. When Carolyn walked up to the band booth Laura introduced Carolyn to Rolando, "Stop hitting on my sister!" she joked. Carolyn put in her few hours but still continued to let her eyes wonder to where "Mr. Cantu" was. Mr. Cantu later agreed to the Dunk Tank where all the students throw baseballs to the bull’s-eye in hopes to dunk their teachers. Rolando was up and he continued to aggravate the crowd, and they loved it! No one had dunked him. Carolyn's mother instantly caught on to the flirtatious actions of her 24 year old daughter. She handed the attendant $20 dollars and said, "Give her the baseballs". Carolyn only wanted a few balls because she knew her aim was good so she gave the rest of the money as a donation. Mr. Cantu egged Carolyn on saying "this girl can't do ANYTHING!!" NO way!! Carolyn started throwing the balls extremely close to the bull’s-eye, "WHOA someone get her away from here!" Rolando then locked eyes with Carolyn and yells over the crowd, why are you so hostile?" Carolyn sarcastic but flirtatiously replied, “Because you didn't ask me for my phone number!” as she threw #10 ball straight threw hitting the bull’s-eyes just as she knew, but nothing. The latch failed and Mr. Cantu didn't get dunked. Slightly annoyed, Carolyn walked away and later was approached by "Rolando". Carolyn and Rolando walked around a few minutes while the school kids giggled at them. Laura, Carolyn's sister eventually caught up with them and introduced them to a few of her friends. One gentleman by the name of Kenny said "Stop flirting with my girl", (Kenny always had a little crush on Carolyn). Rolando said, "Boy this ain't your girl!" Kenny sarcastically retaliated with, "I don't think your girlfriend would like that very much!" Carolyn was in awe, she knew this was all to good to be true. Later on Rolando explained the long distance relationship and current status, but still Carolyn didn’t want to give up, and neither did Rolando. At the end of the night, Rolando met up with Carolyn once again and shyly asked for her number, she agreed. And both parted ways. As Carolyn insisted on not calling him, she waited and sure enough not 45 minutes later Rolando text her...

Rolando and Carolyn have decided to have a small intimate wedding at the Bayou Bend Towers in Houston, Texas.
