The proposal happened on September 1st, 2014 in Yaddo Gardens, Saratoga Springs, New York. Suzanne works as a floral designer and loves flowers, plants, and greenery. I felt this would be an ideal place to take her and ask her. I wish it was a little more romantic than it was...but it was hard to get her there. Our plans to coordinate getting her there fell through. She was also feeling very sick, but she was a trooper and went to the site anyway. After walking for a few minutes, we both decided to sit on a park bench and rest. Suzanne had been floundering the idea of me asking her to marry her for many weeks at this point. She would wave her ring finger at me uncontrollably until I took notice. She would make diamond jokes when a commercial came on TV/Radio. I would just continue to laugh and play a long with it.

Well little did she know that day, would be the day I asked for her hand in marriage. After a conversation of getting engaged and the thoughts of marriage, she still ensured me she was STILL waiting. She turned away for 20 seconds or so to look at a patch of flowers...thats when I got down on one knee. I asked her as her head was turned.."You sure you'd want to marry me?". She started to answer as she turned, but as she saw me with one knee on the ground, she gasped and paused. She didn't say anything for close to half a minute...I asked again if she would marry me. She finally said "Is this a joke?!". Numerous times before she finally started to cry and said yes! :)
