On this amazing excursion, we’ll discover the magnificent Leaning Tower of Pisa in Livorno! We’ll tour the Pisan Romanesque-style Cathedral to see the façade adorned with colonnades, arcades and bronze doors and tour the inside of the Baptistery with its Romanesque and Gothic designs. The highlight of the tour is the visit inside the Leaning Tower witnessing its beauty and inclination, climb the 294 steps to the top to take in spectacular sweeping views!

Aboard our motor coach we’ll drive up the slopes viewing spectacular sweeping vistas and lemon groves, orchards, vineyards, chestnut and pine woods blending beautifully with the hardened lava and volcanic cones. We’ll visit Silvestri Craters and explore its charming natural surroundings!

Discovering Pompeii and its ancient history will be an experience we’ll never forget! We’ll travel to Mount Vesuvius, walk around its rim to witness the view of Naples and its bay. At a local bar we’ll enjoy a refreshing drink before visiting the site of Pompeii to learn about its history, admire the mansions and the art of the wealthy, viewing paintings, inscriptions, lavish baths, temples and richly decorated villas. On our way back to Naples, we’ll stop at the Cameo Factory, learn about the delicate art of cameo carving and perhaps pick up some souvenirs!

We’ll drive past the Aurelian Walls witnessing St. Paul’s Basilica and arriving at Piazza Venezia we’ll explore the monument of King Victor Emanuel II, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine. In a local Roman restaurant, we’ll feast on inauthentic lunch then drive to the Catacombs where we’ll walk through a maze of tunnels where Christians practiced their religion in secret and bury their dead.
