You’ll be welcomed aboard a 65-foot sailing catamaran for your relaxing cruise to Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge, just two miles south of St. Thomas. Although the island is nothing more than grass and cactus, it is valued as a refuge for migratory birds. A lighthouse maintained by the US Coast Guard stands over the 45 acres. The main attractions here, of course, are the spectacular reefs. Once your captain drops anchor at one of the many wonderful coves at Buck Island, put on your snorkeling gear and you’re ready to explore spectacular reefs that are home to tropical fish such as barracuda, snapper, hamlets, French grunts, parrotfish, filefish, surgeonfish, squirrelfish, soldier fish, and other sea life including turtles. Your tour guides will point out and identify the variety of sea life you’ll encounter. During the snorkeling experience, you are always welcome to relax on the open deck. Once the catamaran heads back to the pier and your “Fun Ship,” you are welcome to enjoy unlimited rum punch.
