Now it’s your turn! Strap on your helmet and climb 33 feet up to the first platform, where your athletic guides secure your harness to a system of twin cables and double pulleys. Push off into the air and whiz along the cables until your feet touch down on the second platform. Each zip line is different in length and height—one is longer than a football field—so you’re never sure exactly what‘s in store next. But there’s one thing you can count on: the beautiful views. Cozumel’s white beaches and the pure blue waters of the Caribbean Sea are part of the scenic panorama—even your Carnival ship looms in the distance above the tree line. As you zip from platform to platform, you can ramp up the excitement by zipping without holding on to your cable and just letting gravity do the work. Or you can hold on tightly instead, moving along the zip line at a more scenic speed. Snap photos of friends, family, or fellow Carnival cruise guests as they zoom through the air. When the circuit is complete, jump out of your harness and into a car—you’re off to Cozumel’s relaxing El Cid La Cieba beach resort to cool off. Sip a refreshing free drink while you recline oceanside after your zip line adventure. Swim in one of the resort’s two waterfront pools or at its private beach. For an extra charge you can enjoy a beachside meal at La Chopa, El Cid’s waterfront restaurant, or Trattoria Da Salvatore, inside the resort. Or book a soothing massage at the El Cid’s on-site spa. You can also shop at the dive center, play tennis, soak in a Jacuzzi, or simply stroll through the resort.
