Boat Ride through the Calanques in Southern France

A short distance from the busy and alive city of Marseille, there is a small paradise, a kingdom of nature characterized by green Mediterranean Maquis, white limestone cliffs and clear skies. By boat, this fantastic tour will take us from the port of Marseille to discover the marvelous and unique scenery of the coastline reaching the worldwide famous "Calanques", listed as Natural heritage by UNESCO. These rocky canyons look like fjords plunging steeply into the turquoise blue waters of the sea resulting in a dramatic and wild landscape we can admire while sailing. (seriously, google a picture of this place!!) At the end of the boat tour we will go back to Marseille and have a chance to explore the bustling city after a wonderful day of taking in this beautiful landscape in the South of France.

The beautiful island of Capri

We will enjoy the day in Capri, exploring the island's beauty surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Naples. Upon arrival at Capri pier, Marina Grande, our tour escort will show us the main sights to visit and we will have several hours to independently explore. We may visit Via Camerelle, the famous shopping street of Capri Town, or wander through the central square known as the Piazzetta or we may decide to visit Axel Munhte' s Villa in Anacapri or take the chairlift to Mount Solaro or even the famous Blue Grotto. After a delightful day we will return to Naples.

WINES OF TUSCANY & COUNTRYSIDE DRIVE

We will travel across Northern Tuscany to the wine area of Montecarlo di Lucca (Pinocchio's birthplace), passing medieval villages and green valleys covered in vineyards and olive trees, to a beautiful farmhouse. After a warm welcome by the owner of the vineyard, we will be shown this beautiful estate where some of the best Tuscan wine and olive oil is produced. We will learn about the wine making process and sample some of their house wines accompanied by local specialties such as salami, cheese and bread. We will also have the opportunity to purchase some wine.

Our guide will share with us the history of this beautiful city while passing by the Hadrian Temple and the Arcadian Way, to see the Celsius Library. We’ll witness the Baths of Scholastikia, the Terrace Houses and tour the Great Theatre before having time to shop for souvenirs!
