Anyone who’s ever dreamed of swimming with dolphins will be on cloud nine during this Dolphin Swim & Ride with Lunch shore excursion. Not only do you swim alongside a friendly bottlenose dolphin, but you also share a kiss, a “handshake,” and a hug with one the gentlest and most intelligent creatures in the sea. From your Carnival cruise ship, travel by cab to Dolphinaris in downtown Cozumel and listen as expert trainers provide an enlightening orientation on safety and dolphin behavior. Slip on a life vest, and enter the waist-deep warm waters on a submerged platform. Once you’re introduced to these sociable sea critters, pucker up for a kiss and a pectoral fin ”shake.” The encounter continues when you swim into the deeper water of the ocean cove and take hold of the dolphin’s fins for a magical glide through the water. Then strap on a snorkel for a closer underwater look. Reach out and touch the dolphin’s sleek, smooth skin as it swims alongside you. Toast your incredible dolphin swim excursion with a cold drink in the ocean-front palapa-style restaurant, where you can dine on a delicious complimentary lunch of chicken fajitas, guacamole, burritos and quesadillas. Looking for a souvenir to take home? A ten-minute stroll takes you to Cozumel’s shopping hub in San Miguel, where you can hunt for silver jewelry, ceramics or a colorful hammock. When your shopping is done, return to Dolphinaris where the staff will arrange a taxi back to your Carnival cruise ship.
