Zach Proposed to me on December 18, 2014.  At that point we have been dating for six years and I was pretty sure he wasn't going to ask me. Prior to asking, he even took Lily (our daughter) with him to pick out the ring.  I cannot believe that my four year old at the time was able to keep such a secret from me.   We were going to decorate our Christmas tree.  My absolute favorite part about decorating our tree is putting up the Hallmark decorations that we have collected over the years because they all have a sentimental meaning behind  them and I like to reminisce as we place them on the tree.  So I went to go about the unusual routine with the Hallmark decorations and Zach kept directing me back to a box of plastic Christmas balls.  I was getting REALLY frustrated but eventually I conceded and began to put the balls up on the tree.  I got about half way through box, when I saw a black ring box sitting in the middle of our box with the Christmas decorations.  I thought to myself, "did I leave a jewelry box in here from last year?"  With a really confused look on my face I opened the box.  Zach looked at me and said "all I want for Christmas is for you to be my wife?" Lily runs over at this point and says "whats that?" looks in the box and goes "Oh, I picked that out," and well, as we have a date set I guess you know the rest is history.
