We can not stress enough how important it is that all-wedding couples and their guests arrive on time. Please keep in mind there are over 2000 people boarding the ship the same day of your wedding and the check-in process can take up to 45 minutes. Carnival provides special check-in assistance for wedding couples and their guests provided they arrive to the pier on time. Check-in will commence at the designated Check-in Area located inside the cruise terminal. All wedding ceremonies are timed, priced and coordinated for the time allotted for your specific package. You must be Prompt!  Delays on the part of the wedding couple and/or wedding guests may result in rescheduling, limited ceremony and reception time or possible cancellation of the ceremony.

Ceremonies are scheduled and confirmed within two weeks of sailing, all times are approximate and can be delayed due to unforeseen events.  Due to the nature of the cruise industry and various government agencies controlling cruise ships, delays are rare but possible.

Luggage is not delivered to the cabin until after the ship has sailed.  Please be sure to pack all necessary items you will need for your wedding, in a separate carry on suitcase (No larger than 24”w x 16”h).  (Dress, suit, shoes, make-up, party favors etc.) The Bride & Groom are each allowed 1 small carry on and a garmet bag.  All other luggage should be given to the porters for boarding.  Sailing wedding guests should arrive already dressed and ready.  If necessary they may bring on 1 small (24”w x 16”h) carryon.   However the only cabins available upon check-in for early boarding is the Bride & Groom’s.

It is recommended that the Bride & Groom and all wedding guests arrive the day prior to sailing (especially during the winter and holiday seasons) so they are not rushed or delayed by travel time and feel more relaxed on their wedding day.  Any delays on the part of the couple arriving late could result in a limited ceremony or even cancellation of the wedding with no refund.  It is also recommended all wedding guests be scheduled on the same flight as the wedding couple. Wedding couples and their guests who are using CARNIVALS FLY AWEIGH PROGRAM*, may need to deviate their flights in order to ensure arrival in time for priority boarding. Early flights the day of sailing may not be available due to airline availability or scheduling. Travel arrangements such as flight times and transportation to the pier from the airport and/or hotel are not arranged by Carnivals Fun Ship Wedding Department. YOUR TRAVEL AGENT MUST MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH CARNIVALS AIR-SEA DEPARTMENT TO COORDINATE YOUR FLIGHT TIMES, FLIGHT DEVIATIONS, CUSTOMIZED TRANSFERS AND CARNIVALS PRE-CRUISE TRAVEL PACKAGES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, NO LATER THAN 45 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CRUISE.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TRANSFERS THAT CARNIVAL OFFERS TO THE PORT WILL NOT GET YOU THERE ON TIME.  PLEASE MAKE ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PROMPT TRANSPORTATION TO THE PIER.

Dear Wedding Party:

We are celebrating a very special day that our bridal couple has chosen to share with you, their family and friends.  It is very important that we all do everything in our power to make the day special and memorable for them.  A shipboard wedding may be a new experience for you, so we ask that you review the information below to ensure a stress free and safe day for everyone.

Boarding:  Priority boarding is provided for bridal couples, as well as their guests, being married on the day of sailing.  The time to board the ships is controlled by US Customs and Immigration.  No one is allowed to board the ship until US Customs and Immigration clear the ship. Due to the terrorist attacks on our country, US Customs and Immigration have increased security measures. In the event the delay in boarding affects the time of the wedding, the wedding will be delayed accordingly.

Guests:   We ask for all guests to be at the Pier at 10:00 AM to begin the check-in process so once the ship has cleared, we will be able to priority board before all other cruising passengers.  Guests who do not arrive at the time we board will have to make their own way on the ship.

Non-Sailing Guests:  All non-sailing guests are to be completely dressed and ready for the wedding when arriving at the cruise terminal.  The bride and groom submitted a guest list for all non-sailing guests including your names and date of birth.  You will need to provide your state issued photo ID at the time of check in, please have it available. You will leave your ID with Security in the terminal and be given a guest pass to board the ship.  Non-sailing guests are welcome to tour the ship until the ceremony time. All non-sailing guests must debark the ship immediately after the reception. When leaving the ship, you will need to redeem your ID in the ship’s terminal.

Sailing Guests:  All sailing guests (except the bride and groom) should be completely dressed and ready for the wedding when arriving at the cruise terminal. Time permitting, sailing guests may have an opportunity to go to their stateroom, however, the cabin may not be ready. Only the bride and groom’s cabin is guaranteed to be ready. The bride and groom may carry on a garment bag in addition to a carry-on bag. Only one hand-carry-on bag will be permitted for sailing guests and must fit through the security machine. Luggage not to exceed 24”w x 16”h. All other bags must be checked with the Porters.  Please ensure that you have everything you need for the wedding and reception, as you will not see your checked bags until after the reception.  Please ensure that all ticket documents have been completed prior to arrival at the pier to expedite check-in and have proper boarding documents available. Once onboard, you may go to your stateroom.  If you lose your way, any Carnival Cruise Lines staff member can direct you

The Ceremony and Reception: Please ensure that you are aware of the time that you need to be at the ceremony and that you know the location.  Maps of the ship are available at the Information Desk.  Please be on time.  Delays on the part of the wedding couple and/or the wedding guests may result in limited ceremony or reception time.  All ceremonies are performed before the ship sails and all ceremony times are approximate and can be delayed due to unforeseen events.

On behalf of our wedding couple, Carnival Cruise Lines, and our wedding staff, we thank you for your support and for sharing in this special day.

Those couples getting married the day of embarkation will be granted priority boarding (once the ship is cleared by U.S. Customs).  For this reason, you and your guests are required to be at the port by 10:30am. Check-in will commence at the designated Check-in area located inside the cruise terminal at 10:30 am for the bride and groom and all guests. Once U.S. Customs grants the ship clearance, our day's wedding couples and guests will be granted priority boarding. This is normally at approximately 11:30am -12:30pm.  Couples being married later in the cruise will follow general boarding procedures.

We can not stress enough how important it is that all guests arrive on time to insure Priority Boarding and allow ample time to prepare for the ceremony. Please keep in mind there are over 2000 people boarding the ship the same day as your wedding and the check-in process can take up to 30 minutes. Carnival provides special check-in assistance for wedding guests provided they arrive to the pier on time.  Our Wedding Guest Check-In Staff may not be available for those who arrive once general boarding has begun.  Therefore all wedding couples and their guests must arrive on time to insure Priority Boarding and allow ample time for the Bride & Groom to prepare for the ceremony. You must be prompt!

We highly recommend you & your wedding guests make arrangements to come in the day prior to sailing.  We are not responsible for any delay on the part of the wedding couple, flights, or ground transportation.  If you do not arrive on time your wedding may be cut short or even cancelled.

Wedding couples are responsible for informing guests of the boarding time, and the time & location of their ceremony which is given 2 weeks prior to your cruise date.

Non-Sailing Wedding guests are also required to arrive at 10:30 am and should also meet at the Wedding Guests Check-in area for assistance. All sailing guests should have their necessary documents filled out before arriving to the pier.  All non-sailing guests will need to provide photo identification such as a driver's license or pass port, children under the age of 16 must bring a birth certificate, in order to obtain a visitor's pass.  Any wedding guest who fails to provide proper photo identification will be denied boarding.   Non-sailing guests will need to disembark the ship immediately after the wedding reception.  Transportation to the pier from the airport and/or hotel is not included within your Wedding Package.  All wedding couples and their guests are responsible for their own transportation to the pier and making sure they arrive on time.

Luggage is not delivered to the cabin until after the ship has sailed. Please be sure to pack all the necessary items you will need for your wedding, in one separate carry on suitcase (No larger than 24"w x 16”h shoes, make-up, party favors etc.) Garment bag for dress & suit can also be carried onboard. All other luggage should be given to the porters for boarding.

Your final guest list is due in our office no later than 3 weeks prior to the sailing date.  (Please indicate if sailing or non-sailing, use full names and date of birth for all non-sailing guests.)  Guest cancellations within the week of sailing will be considered no-shows and are non-refundable. Changes to your guest list will not be taken the week of sailing.  Anyone not on the guest list will not be able to attend.

Due to U.S. Customs regulations all wedding gifts are subject to duty fees.  We ask that you inform your guests of these restrictions and that you make alternate arrangements to have gifts delivered to your home.

Should you have additional questions pertaining to Boarding Procedures please contact a Carnival Wedding Coordinator at 1-800-933-4968.
