After being together for 8 years I asked Lyla to marry me in a beautiful place called Waipio Valley on the island of Hawai’i. It was an adventure day and we hiked down the valley to the best spot I could find. I got down on one knee and asked her. It was a private place as many people were not around and she said “Yes.” We hung out there for some of the day and we started to hike back up to the top of the valley. Luckily to shorten our trip up we were able to hitch a ride back up to the top of the valley where we parked. I am pretty sure if we didn’t get a ride back up to the top it would have ruined the day since it is a steep hike. I let Lyla pick her favorite restaurant to eat that day to complete her special day. It was a funny day because I spent most of the day watching Lyla look at her engagement ring at least 7,000 times.
