Lindsey and I met on the Carnival Dream in July of 2020 from a wink from God as everyone refers to it. I almost did not go on this specific cruise, but I ended up going with my son and I took my aunt along for the ride. I knew she was the perfect person to go cruising with. She is very adventurous, fun, and has never met a stranger in her life. It was the perfect vacation to just get away and take a step back from the chaos surronding both of us in our lives. Little did I know, I would start an enormous wonderful new chapter in my life. The first night we did not attend our assigned dining room seats. We ended up just heading to the buffet to grab a quick dinner (we did not know how to board the ship properly and it was a nightmare that made us exhausted.) The following day was spent poolside where my aunt, never meeting a stranger, was chit chatting for a long time in the pool with another woman while I sat out on a lounger watching my son swim. That night, we decided to make our way down to the dining room to our assigned table and our dining room table mates ended up being exact same woman that my aunt previously had been chit chatting with in the pool, Lindsey's mom. We all struck up a conversation as we dined in the middle of the ocean and shortly realized that they were also from Boerne. I couldn't believe the odds of on an entire cruise ship, I met a family five miles down the road from my house. We spent the remainder of the cruise all inseperable developing a deep bond. Over the next six months we continued to be inseperable until she proposed on the Carnival Dream in January. |
