We met at Carnival Cruise Lines back in 2006. We are both vacation planners just selling cruises, but chit chatting with each other inbetween calls. We became great friends and it wasnt until 2008 when we started to realize the friendship was more than we thought. Our cubicles kept us side by side so we would talk all day long. We had so much in common and just enjoyed each others company. In May 2009, we went on our first date. Jason picked me up and we went to the Commercial Pier and watched the sunset. Following that we had a drink at Aruba's, an ocean front restaurant, which was so romantic. We totally felt a connection, and knew we were meant to be. We became official on June 7, 2009. We were both filled with joy to see that we found not only an amazing friendship, but love and trust for each other. Over the past few years we grew our little family. Emma, Jason's daughter, is a blessing. I love her like my own. We have lived together and enjoyed being together, just the 3 of us, over the past few years. We look forward to spending the rest of our lives together, the 3 of us and possibly growing the family.
Oooh, the night of the proposal! Jay, myself, Emma, my brother Anthony, my mom, and dad were supposed to go to Marco Island for the weekend. It was December, and it can get chilly in south florida in December. The weekend we were suposed to go, there was a cold front. We decided to cancel Marco Island and all of us would take Emma to Disney for Mickey's Christmas Party. We had never taken Emma to Disney before, so all of us were excited. All I thought this weekend was going to be, was an exciting time for Emma. I was looking forward to seeing the parade, go on rides, and go see the fireworks. Well, we got to Disney and watched the parade. It was freezing! It was in the 30's! We all had winter jackets on and we were all getting cranky because of the cold. After the parade, I wanted to take Emma on "It's a Small World", the ride. My parents were insistant on seeing the fireworks and then leaving. I got so upset and told Jason and my parents to leave and I would take Emma on the rides. Jason forced me to go see the fireworks. As we are watching the fireworks, dad asked to use my camera to take pictures. Anthony asked to hold Emma. I still didn't put 2 and 2 together. So as we are watching the fireworks, my family is standing behind me, knowing what is about to happen. The fireworks are going crazy, Jason has his arm around me, and starts talking about how he loves me and cannot believe how fast 2 and 1/2 years went by. Before I know it, he bends down on 1 knee and I see camera flashes all around me...I started blushing because I knew what was happening. And of course, I said yes with excitement! I did have to apologize though for being a little harsh earlier in the night about going on the rides with Emma. haha!
