Welcome

As many of you know, Matt and I met during my first year of college (his second) at Piedmont. We were both very active in the college life during this time - I played golf for four seasons and cheered for one while Matt was a Resident Assistant, as well as was a member of the baseball team for several seasons. Unlike most couples, after we had been dating for a little over a year, we found out that we were expecting a child. As unplanned as this event was, and as scary as it seemed at the time, God's gift of our daughter was without a doubt the best thing that had ever happened to either one of us. During the eight short months that we awaited Baylee's arrival, we became a support system for each other - we made our first commitment. Together we made the promise that we would continue school until we both graduated and become as successful as we had previously imaged our lives would be. It has now been a little over two years since Baylee was born and a lot has changed. Matt and I have both graduated from college - him twice, and I will receive my Masters in July. We both have successful jobs - I am teaching full time at Mountain View High School and Matt is working for a water damage maintenance company. After four years of dating and two years of parenting together, we have decided to make our second commitment. We will soon take on new roles, as Husband and Wife, and I will finally be able to share the same last name as my daughter and my best friend.

The wedding ceremony will be held on July 7, 2012 at Vecoma at the Yellow River in Snellville, Georgia. Our wedding will be held in a casual, outdoor setting and will be fun and fabulous - a celebration of the hard work and devotion that has led us up to this point in our lives, as well as of the journey we are about to embark upon together, and will be as unique as the path that led us to become a family.  The wedding party is small, consisting of the people that mean the most to us. We will be united in marriage by Rev. Lamar Holley, former pastor of Lawrenceville First Baptist  Church.

Our reception will directly follow the ceremony and will be held inside the facilities at Vecoma. It will be an evening to cut loose and enjoy, accompanied by dinner, drinks, and dancing - a night to make memories together that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

Matthew and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our family and friends for sharing in this unique journey with us - for standing by our sides, wiping tears, and giving advice. Though it has been hard, our dreams of becoming a family are finally becoming a reality. We cannot wait to share our special day with you, and pray that each of you, whether near or far, will be able to help us celebrate this exciting time in our lives.
