Welcome to our wedding website!

First things first: No, you don't have to check in here every day to see what's up with us and our wedding or honeymoon. We know that most people prefer social media for following along with family and friends, so anything we post here, we'll post there, as well. So no worries about missing out on any news!

Why did we create a wedding website? For two reasons, really:

1. It's free!
2. It gives us a chance to tell a bit about what led us to this unconventional wedding/honeymoon/re-commitment/family vows/reception/family "honeymoon" type of setup that you may (or may not have) heard about.

THE REGISTRY

We hope you take a moment to look at the nifty things on the registry. Since we're blending two households, we really don't need things like crock pots and Kuerigs (we have two of each already). But helping us fund our wedding/honeymoon/family cruise is the best possible gift we could hope to get.

So let's take a moment to explain how the registry works:

We've already paid for our cruise and are about to pay for the wedding fees, excursion, photo packages, and dinner. We are paying this all out of pocket, and the amounts we are asking for, when totaled, only come up to the amount we've already paid out or are about to pay out.

Anything we get back towards these costs from the generosity of our friends and family will be going to fund a family cruise in early 2020 for our blended families. So basically, since we've paid out of pocket for the wedding and honeymoon, your contributions go towards a "familymoon!"

THE WEDDING

So why this strange wedding/honeymoon/re-commitment/family vows setup?

I guess part of it is because we are a strange couple (Normal is boring™). But part of it is simple logistics:

- We had wanted to attempt the best of both worlds...We had considered a family cruise with a wedding and inviting guests to that onboard wedding and cruise. However, that's a very costly proposition for guests and suddenly the honeymoon becomes a time where, instead of quality alone time, we have kids to wrangle and family and friends to spend time with. We still wanted to get married on a cruise, though. Something unique and fun, like us. So what to do?

     - An embarkation ceremony for just the two of us, followed by a honeymoon cruise.
     - A separate ceremony after we returned, when our kids were back with us, so that we could re-commit in front of family and friends, as well as recite family vows to dedicate ourselves to our newly blended family.
     - A separate "familymoon" cruise in 2020 to bring together our families in a fun and memorable activity.

THE RECEPTION

The ceremony and reception will be at Zion Global Ministries in mid-July. See our Facebook event for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/2326059940947125/

FINALLY
If you have any other questions about the upcoming festivities or the registry, please contact one of us via Facebook, text, phone or email. If you don't have access to any of that, how did you get notified about this blog and registry? LOL!
