Take a relaxing 1 hour drive along the Amalfi Coast to Salerno where you will board your private boat and enjoy a 45 minute cruise to Amalfi. Here you will be led into Amalfi s main square, you will see the magnificent facade of the 12th-century cathedral and enjoy some free time to explore this famous maritime village. Board your motor coach for Pompeii where you will enjoy a typical Italian lunch. After lunch you can explore the old streets of this ancient town. Enjoy a short stop at a local cameo factory before returning to Naples.

AVIGNON, POPE'S PALACE & PONT DU GARD

Your first destination is the breath-taking Pont du Gard, a world famous ancient Roman aqueduct bridge that crosses the shallow Gard River. This amazing feat of engineering used to carry around 44 million gallons of water a day. Built around the year 40 A.D., it features three impressive levels of arcades that are recessed one on top of the other reaching a height of 160 feet. Although walking across the bridge is now forbidden, you will be able to absorb the magnificence of this unique 18th-century structure from a nearby vantage point. You will then drive to nearby Avignon for a walk around this historic town, with cobbled streets and narrow stairs. The town itself is still delightfully contained within its 14th-century walls and features beautifully preserved ramparts and pretty bell towers. Visit the Palace of the Popes, home to nine Popes during the Great Schism that lasted from 1309 to 1378. A truly magnificent building you will be able to wander through the vast galleries and great halls. Enjoy some free time to have lunch on your own. Most of Avignon's medieval city streets are closed to vehicle traffic and are lined with boutiques and art galleries, along with craft, jewelry and souvenir shops. Return to Marseille via the highway, traveling through breath-taking countryside which features vineyards, orchards and cypress trees.

Inside Vatican, Colosseum & St. Peter's Basilica

Your tour begins with a 90-minute drive from the pier in Civitavecchia to Rome. Once arrived in Rome, visit the impressive Colosseum. This masterpiece of classical architecture is an enormous amphitheater where gladiators and wild beats once battled to death in front of 50,000 spectators. A brief free time to take photographs will follow your visit before you re-board your coach. Drive to the Vatican City. Here you’ll have some time on your own to have lunch or explore independently before you meet back your tour guide. Walk to the entrance of the Vatican Museums and admire the amazing treasures collected by the Popes throughout the centuries while walking along the rooms and galleries .You will have time to see a portion of the many beautiful pieces of work. Your tour continues with a visit to the Sistine Chapel, highlighted by Michelangelo's masterpieces and impressive frescos, including the "Last Judgment." After your tour of the Sistine Chapel, you will visit St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world. Among the many fine pieces of art and mosaics on display are Michelangelo's "Pieta" and the beautifully carved Bernini Pulpit. You will then rejoin the coach and return to Civitavecchia.
